Trinity Comics

Trinity Comics was formed in mid-2003 by writer Frank Dirscherl and artists John Jett and Craig Shepard to publish Dirscherl's character creation The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld, with the express purpose of giving readers the very best quality stories and art at all times.

Trinity's charter is to create top quality stories available to all, simple to read and understand, and will be available to purchase online, as well as through select stores the world over.

The Trinity trident logo signifies the three forming partners - Dirscherl, Jett and Shepard. And while Jett & Shepard have since left the company, the Trinity motto still rings true - Where Quality Counts. The Trinity Comics team (introed below) consists of writer/publisher Frank Dirscherl and artists Jeff Welborn, Roland Bird, Jeff Austin, Ryan Crouse, Joel Danford, Dave Rothe & Splash! We have also used several guest creators with our in-the-works comics, and those will be mentioned below as well.

Trinity Comics has thus far produced two comic book issues in The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld ® series--The Wraith #0, a 24-page b&w introductory tale of The Wraith and his world, and The Wraith #1, our 44-page extravaganza issue which launched the series proper. We will be selling direct to our customers via The Wraith's Lair website, from select stores in Australia and through Diamond distributors via the toy deal signed with Shocker Toys. Retailers who are interested in receiving advance promo materials, and those who already know they wish to stock The Wraith in their stores, should contact us and discuss with us their interests and issues via this site's contact section.

The Wraith's Lair will be providing updates on a regular basis as to the status and release dates of The Wraith, so please check back often. If you have provided contact information, I will also send you regular updates via email.

We at Trinity Comics take our motto Where Quality Counts! seriously. For interested retailers, we look forward to building a long lasting and fruitful relationship with you. As we're producing one title, and one title only, you can plainly see we are definitely not your average comic company. We feel sure we can achieve an ideal working relationship between us if given the opportunity. I promise any/all retailers - you will get a great deal stocking The Wraith.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have, and I guarantee you will receive a response within 24 hours, often times sooner.

We here at Trinity Comics look forward to hearing from you.

Jeff Welborn - Artist

Jeff Welborn was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1977. As soon as he could pick up a pencil he was drawing. Before long he graduated from doodling on walls with permanent marker to drawing in class. Test papers, homework, pop quizes, no document was safe from his artistic adornment. He constantly heard threats from his mother implying that if she were to see one more test paper with a superhero on it, she would unceremoniously end his young life. Aside from the occasional death threat, his parents were as supportive and caring as anyone could ask. They were always willing to make the journeys to various comic book conventions and see "all those weirdos".

He took several commercial art courses in high school and won several awards for design, including one at a state wide level. While surviving the daily trials and tribulations of high school life, he met a young woman named Rebecca. She mentioned that she needed a ride to school with a smile that no one could refuse. Like a gentlemen, he obliged. Every morning consisted of picking up the beautiful young lady and falling a little more in love with her each day. After two years of dating they were married at the young age of 18. Today they are still happliy married with a son, Logan and two lazy cats.

He sites Jim Lee, Burne Hogarth, Leinil Yu and Adam Hughes as his major artistic influences. Jeff is currently art director for a promotional products firm and is continually working on his pencilling skills, always striving to grow and learn as an artist. Hopefully, one day he will finally reach the elusive goal of drawing comics for a living.

Jeff has contributed much to The Wraith, including posters, action figure designs, several pages from The Wraith #1, 10 pages from The Wraith #2 and upcoming Wraith novel covers.

Joel Danford - Artist/Letterer/Colourist

Joel Danford is the creative talent behind The Saga of Bluewing comic book series. Bluewing is the brainchild of Berkley Priest. Originally Priest had teamed up with Joel Danford in 1988 to make some local comics under Danford's then named Superclutz Comics. After New England Comics rejected them, saying that Superclutz was too similar in name to another comic book hero, Danford decided to rename the character and the company and South Boston Comics was born in 1989. It was under this new umbrella that Priest would begin anew and create Bluewing. Sadly after the first issue, Priest lost interest in comics and the world was left hanging for the next installment.. "Liberty or Death" which came almost ten years later in 1997.

Priest had given up Bluewing to Danford years ago and in between that time Danford had done some issues as a means of blowing off creative steam inbetween his own creative ventures. Later he would publish them locally in small quantities just for the love of it.

More recently, Danford has made a short on mini DV continuing the saga of Bluewing in live action. Hopefully this will be a new begining for Bluewing as the saga continues...Danford is now the resident letterer and interior colourist at Trinity Comics and supplied the voice for Detective Bob Sloan in The Wraith: Eyes of Judgment film.

Splash! - Cover Colourist

Gregory Price has been doing comic art since 1994, his 1st published piece was a cover painting for Roughcutt Productions in the early 90's. And he hasn't stopped ever since, painting covers was always his dream job, then other opportunities opened and he started doing gaming, & fantasy art, but always returning to his true passion "comic books".

Dabbling in everything from pencils to inks to paints, he loved working in all mediums. Then in 2001 he picked up "Battle Chasers", and thought "My God" to be able to draw like that guy! Gregory's art style completely changed. Not only did he want to draw like that, he wanted to color like that. So in 2004 he purchased Photoshop and became obsessed, he hasn't put it down since, in August 2005 he decided it was time to branch out and not only color his own art, but other comic artist's as well.......Hence the birth of SPLASH!

Splash! has coloured the majority of the covers in The Wraith comic book & novel series.
